We Will Never Forget
When everyone else was running away from the worst terrorist act ever committed on American soil, hundreds of New York City Police, Firefighters and EMS ran into hell to try to save the lives of people they had never met.
About 400 of these brave men and women did not make it out on that terrible Tuesday morning, Sept. 11, 2001. It is a date none of us will ever forget. We should remember that these men and women died as they lived, helping the people of the great city they all served so proudly.
I am proud to have had the chance to meet and work alongside some of the most dedicated human beings I have ever come across. For many days, we laughed and cried together hoping for a miracle. In each other, we found the strength to keep going. I saw the worst in mankind in that cowardly act, the devil himself came down from the skies and tried to kill America. What I saw on the pile, and on the road to and from it, however was the best of human nature. Thank you to all the volunteers who made sure we all had enough to eat and drink. Thank you to all the people all over the country who donated clothes, socks and towels so we could stay dry and warm. Thank you to the thousands who lined the streets in and out of "Ground Hero" cheering. You are all angels from heaven. Thank you also to all the Police, Firefighters, EMS workers, UNION members and citizens who came from all over this great land to lend a hand in New York and America's darkest hour.
Side by side, we worked, ate, drank and slept. We looked out for each other, and leaned on each other. We proved that if we stick together, we can get through anything. We were Ironworkers, Cops, Firemen, EMS, Carpenters, Electricians, anyone at all. We all had one thing in common. We were all AMERICANS. I know that we will meet again in heaven, because together we have already been to hell.
Most of all, I want to thank my wife, who like so many others was stuck home wondering if I was OK. To the wives and families of all who were there doing what they had to do, we know you had a tough job also. There were tough questions from the kids. Having to reassure them that Dad was OK even when you weren't sure yourself. To all the widows of all the men who paid the ultimate price that day, may God give you the strength to go on. Our heros would want it that way.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Rest In Peace Brothers
We have found a way to show how much we appreciate the sacrifice that so many good people made. Thank you Elf for the outrageous work. Your brothers are smiling.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET

The flags are 4 stripes short to honor 400 of the bravest heros this great country will ever know.
